The musical clowns Rik and Rak, father Švamberk and his daughter Zdeňka, are struggling miserably on the pilgrimage. Zdeňka reveals to the old clown Tom that her father grew up in the nearby Lípov castle, but his father disinherited it because of his marriage to a comedian. On Tom's advice, Zdeňka sends her grandfather a promotional photo of herself asking to meet him. She is indeed invited to the castle, but because her grandfather thinks she is a man based on the clothes in the photo, Zdeňka has to continue acting as a grandson...

The devil and the water sprite, typical Czech characters, play the leading roles in today's fairy tale. They were invited to the castle by Lord Nesvít himself to help him win the hand of Lady Luzmila from the Cloud Kingdom. However, Nesvít is not so much interested in her as in her gold. But Luzmila is cut from the same cloth. And so the devil and the water sprite are there to find out who has a black soul and who needs help. But in the process, their magic causes a lot of confusion...

An adventure story about three boys who are at summer camp and soon notice that very strange and unexpected things are happening near the camp. And like proper boys, they decide to get to the bottom of all these mysterious puzzles. After a series of adventures and comical misunderstandings, the story's dénouement reveals that the boys have helped expose smugglers who are bringing refugees from the East across the nearby border and robbing them of their meager resources.
